Tire Pressure Monitor

OK, dumb question for all. I recently purchased spare set of wheels and intend to mount new tires for track use only. I am trying to determine if I must have TPMs on the wheels during mounting versus just valve stems.

If this requires computer reprogramming from dealership, then will be pain in butt to move tires back and forth. What is the deal? Also, any recommendations for TPM and how long should they operate satisfactorily?
Thanks,

TPMS sensors are not required to have in the wheels. A good metal valve stem should suffice if you don't mind losing the functionality of the system. Some don't like the sensors in race wheels. Once you put your stock wheels back on the system should see your new sensors and act normally.

On different question: are these Porsche tires supposed to be spin balanced or road force balanced (with simulated load)? what does dealership do?

We recommend road force balancing. It's the best balance and will usually find an out of round tire should you have one. Most dealerships use road force for their balancing.

I thought so, but seems unnecessary if buying quality tires. All the N* rated tires for Porsche, such as Michelin PSC2, better be perfectly round from factory for $500+ per tire. This would make spin balancing only just fine assuming tire mounted correctly aligning dots.
