I see many inquiries and threads on these wheels, and I think it's fair to warn people that don't know that these wheels were not designed for street use and BBS does not recommend them to be used off of a track. The barrel sections are roll formed and they are considerably thinner on these wheels than they would be on one of their road wheels. It saves weight, but it makes the wheel much more likely to be damaged by potholes, etc.

The nice thing about them is that they can be repaired if damaged, but they still have to be removed and sent back to do it.

interesting Damon, the word I got from BBS was that the Magnesium racing wheels were not suitable for street use but the aluminum racing wheels were ok...guess it depends on who you talk to....

 

learn to avoid hitting potholes. actually very fun. any wheel get damaged when people are careless when driving.

This came straight from the director of the motorsports division at BBS. Aluminum included.

are your rims the aluminum or magnesium ones?

I've heard the latest Forged Aluminum wheels ARE now streetable and could even pass TUV requirements.
