Yokohama a048 Storage Temperatures

Hi, well it's almost fall and it's starting to get down into the 70's for highs in South Dakota so freezing temps are only a couple of months or less away. Anyways, I have a set of Yokohama a048 tires and I remember seeing somewhere that they should only be stored down to a minimum temp of just below freezing I think it was. Does anybody know for sure what that minimum temperature was so I know when to retire them for the year and bring them inside? Thanks, Matt

OK, here's what we got from them.....

The Yokohama ADVAN A048 (standard and Lotus-OE variant) have the same 14 degrees F temperature limit as the ADVAN Neova AD-07. At or below this temperature the tire should not have any vehicle weight on the tire. Doing so risks causing cold compound cracking, which is much like dropping a frozen candy bar. The soft tread compound reaches its glass transition point and is no longer flexible enough to remain pliable, just like the shatter of the frozen candy bar when it hits the floor.

ADVAN A048 and ADVAN Neova AD-07 tires can be stored off the vehicle in a stationary state without concern. Its the weight and subsequent deflection that causes the risk of cracking.
