Next In Line

Hennessey Performance has long been known for taking the world's fastest cars and making them faster. Their portfolio ranges from modern-day muscle cars to exotics and even six-wheeled trucks, with pretty much everything in between. So we shouldn't be surprised to see that the Texas tuner has turned its attention to the new McLaren 765LT, with amazing results.

Already Fast

Nobody ever accused the 765LT of being underpowered, of course. McLaren says its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 produces 755 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Couple that with a roughly 3,000-pound curb weight, and the 765LT will do 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds.

Highly Underrated

More than one owner, including Hennessey, has put the 765LT on the dyno and found that it's highly underrated from the factory, however. When HP strapped their stock car to the dyno, it put down 765 horsepower at the wheels, which means it's actually making around 865 horsepower at the crank.

Various Upgrades

Too much is never enough when it comes to power, however, so Hennessey gave its 765LT a few upgrades including freer-flowing air filters, a re-mapped factory ECU calibration, a stainless-steel exhaust downpipe upgrade, high-flow exhaust componentry, and a chassis dyno calibration.

Insanely Quick

The result of those few bits and pieces is 1,000 horsepower at the crank, which is undoubtedly impressive. What's more, Hennessey says its upgraded 765LT will do 0-60 in just 2.1 seconds, which is insanely quick.

Other Changes

In addition to the performance upgrades, Hennessey treats its special 765LT to a few other goodies, including exterior Hennessey emblems and HPE1000 badges, a serial number dash plaque, and a serial number engine plaque so everyone knows you're driving something special.

Price - No Object

The cost of all this goodness is $24,950, plus the cost of a McLaren 765LT, of course. That will set you back at least $358,000, and as we all well know, that number can and will increase quickly depending on how the car is optioned. But can we really put a price on something that's both gorgeous and insanely fast?
