A 2013 Lamborginini Gallardo, under the Underground Racing moniker, broke the half-mile record with top speed just over the 240 mph.

Owned and operated by private customer Gidi Chamdi, the Gallardo was outfitted with the Underground Racing X Package and hit a top speed of 240.64 mph at the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack in Colorado.

Regarding the altitude at which this record was set, the location resides at 9,500 feet above sea level.

With all modifications said and done, this twin-turbo V10 Gallardo pumps out power just over 2,300 hp. With this much power being transferred to the Gallardo’s all-wheel drive system, it takes a considerable amount of skill and finesse on the driver’s part to keep the vehicle planted without spinning the wheels at lower gears.

Unlike other project cars built for insane speed, this Gallardo has all of the interior amenities that it came stock from the factory including air-conditioning, radio, and navigation. According to Gidi, no weight on this vehicle has been removed. It is a fully street legal vehicle that just so happens to be ridiculously fast.

The clips below showcases this awesome machine and it’s ability to be a blur on the landscape.
