DIY for Clutch Accumulator W/Pics...
Thanks for the write up...
Just curious about the power bleeder. Is there fluid in the power bleeder or is it just air?.... reason i am asking is when you open the bleeder screw wouldn't the reservoir be empty therefore get air in the system... or would you just bleed it with 10 PSI for 20 sec and there is still enough in the reservoir so it doesn't get bubles... Hope that made sense. lol.
Also would it be just possible to gravity bleed it rather than using a power bleeder and top it off as the reservoir is low on fluid...
Thanks in advance.

There is fluid in the Motive Bleeder so you can continually bleed and not have to stop to top off the reservoir. You can use the motive just like you mentioned as well, but you do not get the full benefits. What you do when you get to the end of your bleeding process is leave the bleed screw open and tilt the bleeder until it starts to suck air. It will purge the fluid from the lines and allow you to drop the fluid down to the proper level in the reservoir.
I purchased one for this project and it made it great since the bleed screw is not the easiest reach (unless you are gumby).
I do not put fluid in the motiv. Pentosin isn't something you want to put into the motiv bleeder... I also use mine for brake fluid, so I just use it to pressurize the system and rinse the gasket in the cap when done...
Do a search on Pentosin to get a better understanding why you don't want that stuff in your brake system...

With my Accord i bled the line by somebody pumping the clutch, holding it in, while i opened the bleeder while a friend held the clutch in.... Once the bleeder screw is closed you pull the clutch pedal up by hand and start pumping again, repeat the same procedure a few times until all the air was out of the system.... is this possible in the Porsche if i change the Accumulator to get the air out.....
Or

I have access to power bleeder that i can connect to the bleeder at the bottom but using suction the pull the air out rather than what Mikelly used by forcing it out from the top..... would these both ways work or do I have to get the same bleeder as Mikelly....
Thanks in advance... never did this on a porsche so i am worried about getting air out of the system and forcing the fluid in to the accumulator, and having my dad on my a**
...lol. I don't have access to the same bleeder as Mikelly so if thats the only way to get the fluid in the accumulator than i have to find one.
By the way changing the ignition was easy but i have a lot of bleeding knuckles...LOL

Mike, I'm surprised you just didn't do the GT2 conversion as you are more than capable. Although I think you have to drop the tranny to get it done. The stealer replaced my accum/slave under (after-market) warranty a year ago and had I been thinking I might have just had my mech do the GT2 conversion. I just don't like the variable uptake of the OEM clutch.

Thank you Mike again.... Clutch feels so much better and it was easy diy with your instructions.... I had made my own pressure bleeder by using a garden sprayer, bought a air tank gauge and i also put in a valve stem on it so i can use air tank to pressurize it, using JB weld i put it all together and it was air tight, and i used the wiper reservoir cap to secure it on the the reservoir after installing a little valve on it to insert the tubing. It costs less than the pressure bleeder and it was a fun playing around with it.
I got scared because when i started the car it was making noise out of the steering so it took me a while to figure out that i emptied out the reservoir for the steering in the back, stupid me..... filled that up and noise when away...... Thank you for saving me a ton of money on labour charges.
Rep points for you.

This helped a great deal as I just did mine. Mine would not hold any time when the engine was off and also then starting sticking if pressed quickly, and there was a lot of vibration in the pedal (accumulator also acts as a damper and when not working will not damp vibes).
One thing to note is that bleeding is not necessary as you are not opening up the actuation circuit, only the assist circuit running off the power steering pump. No harm doing it but if it did not need doing to start with you will be right.
