One of the few non-porsche's that hold my interest enough to consider (just not as a DD of course).

Very nice.. please report periodically on the build progress

I have the Cobra.

Some things to note.

It is not a Porsche. It is raw, powerful, violent, unforgiving, loud and did I say violent?

I would say it is not for most Porsche owners. Unless you want to work on it, don't get it. It is very old school but easy to work on.

As I moved away from the 991 911S I realized the thing that I did not like. It was too refined, it isolated you from the experience. The Cobra is on the opposite end of the spectrum. I am working on getting it out to the track. I never did that with the Porsche, go figure.

It came in at 580 HP 580 Torque. It weighs 2600#. The torque curve is very flat. 482 cubic inches or torque. Pulls hard the whole way no peak to speak of. Spins easily in first and second. Will spin around easily if you are being sloppy.

I am digging it and not missing the Porsche. No even close to a daily driver. You can't even drive it on any day you want.

I have always loved these. My cousin had a big block Superformance and they are indeed fast. What kit did you go with Superformance, Factory Five? I know they offer them as complete turn-key cars, partial builds- you install drivetrain or complete kits which you build yourself.

Did you sell the 911S? I am in Detroit and trying to help a friend find a 911S Cab. I can't tell from your avatar if yours is a cab. pm me if it is and is for sale.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I have a Caterham 7 for much the same reason. The 991S is a perfect car, the 7 is the ultimate version of a 60s sports car. As raw as one can get.

I don't know about Factory Five, but Superformance is happy to supply Chevrolet or Ford engine mounts...
