Issue with windshield seal

I have a gooey substance that looks like 'no leak' oozing out from around the top on the windshield. I can't exactly say if it's some sort of sealant or if it's the rubber seal itself deteriorating/melting in heat that's causing it. Anyone else seen something like this before?

No, never had the windsheild replaced during my ownership and there was no record it was done preciously either. Here's a pic, you can see the unevenness of the edge barely.

Hey mad max , did you purchase the car from the dealer ?
To me it looks like it has been either replaced or it's a factory defect

Bought the car as a CPO from a Porsche dealer. I just noticed it and wanted to see if anyone else has seen anything similar. The car is still under original factory warranty so I guess I'll take it to the dealer.

That's a good decision.
Good luck

That doesn't look right at all. I've had my windshield replaced and don't have anything other than the rubber gasket showing in that area.

So I'm not alone!

I have the same sticky gooey which seems to be leaking from the windscreen around the sides and top edge. Windscreen has never been changed, will ask dealer and see what they say.

Keep me updated to any progress.

Thanks!

whoa! that makes three of us.....maybe it is the heat? i just noticed it this morning while washing/drying the car......same black ooze of sorts, in only one spot though, the top left area. the shtty thing for me is that it was just there for a steering angle sensor replacement....back it goes.

Can each of you list the year and model and where you live. Also what has the dealer done. Also are you original owner.

I have the same issue.

2103 Boxster. Dallas.

Dealer has been discussing with regional rep.

For the record, dealer let me know Porsche rep will not approve any warranty work on this. Dealer cleaned it up and that is the planned action going forward. If it happens 3rd time I will go to PCNA. Seems it is a known 'issue' but obviously replacing windshields is expensive.

If you have this goo occurring please add your cars build date to your post.

Porsche might have used a bad batch of adhesive during windshield assembly.

I would hate to think the windshield is not going to perform correctly in a crash.

My 2013 C4S only has what looks like a really nice rubber gasket showing around the windshield.

On what basis did they say Porsche will not approve the work? Original factory warranty should cover this as this is not a tear and wear item nor is it misuse by owner. I would call Porsche customer relations.

I am sending the new pictures over to the dealer now and ask them to contact the rep again asap. They cleaned it nicely but only what is visible to the eye. One drive and it started to come out again. I also took a cloth as if I was cleaning the car and black goo all over it.

Issue with windshield seal

My car is a 2013 C2S. I live in a hot and humid climate so I'm sure the gasket is melting because of the heat
