Exclamation NISSAN Runs a 7:27.5 in 2010 GTR at the Ring

http://www.motorauthority.com/update...rburgring.html

According to Nissan, a stock 2010 GT-R with optional wheels and sticky
tires and former F1 Driver Suzuka, they ran a 7:27.54.

New car has 5 more HP, remapped transmission and better wheels and
tires than previous 2009 model

Ferry must be spinning in his grave...

I want to know the V SPEC time.
And I want to know what Nissan has besides electronically controllen 4WD and lightning fast gear shift compared to a 7.29 min. car (the Pagani Zonda F ClubSport with 650 hp and mid-engine layout...).

Way of the samurai, huh?

They always bring up the bit about their driver being a former F1 pilot. If only people actually bothered to check up how pathetic he actually went in F1. Jan has a far better F1 strike rate than Toshio Suzuki.

hasnt it been said before... if i want a Nissan...i will buy one.... but i prefer PORSCHE...even if it "appears" to have a slower ring time...using a truly STOCK vehicle....

I understand the resistance to this GTR puffery on a 996TT/GT2 forum. On the other hand, assuming the info is true, and there's no reason not to, it's a very impressive time for Nissan's boat with the fat bottom lip. Since in the "racer/tuner" world the comparatively bargain basement priced GTR is touted as a "better" alternative to Stuttgart, then I think a thread on this news is OK for us porschephiles to ***** about one way or the other. It's just my opinion, but when a 100K Japanese car (I'm adding in the 20K dealer mark up) runs the ring the same or better than, for example, a 200K+ 997 GT2, that's something I would like to know about.
