BMC in the BIN???? Help PLz

For the last month or so ive been having Maf problems on my car under hard acceleration in 3rd gear upwards getting ABS PSM lights, car has felt down on power and reading Fault code 515 P0102,
I have now replaced maf and today had full boost leak carried out including new N75 value.
Car pulls as strong as ever again but on drive home under hard WOT in 5th brought the ABS PSM on again!!! (gutted)
i bought the car only 6months ago and its had a BMC filter fitted could this be the problem as everything else seems to be fine??
im ordering a new paper filter tomorrow from porsche.

Cheers Guys

If you hit the rev limiter there is a spike in voltage (IMHO) that shorts the MAF...

I blew 2 MAFS in quick succession last year and got Tim to do a MAFLESS tune for me...

I had the EVOMS airbox... vflow thingy.

Without the MAF and restrictive piping the car BREATHES much better..

I'm running - BMC for over a year now, and no problem, including idle. you can try to change the filter and see if that helps, i doubt , maybe computer?

Been running BMC for 10 years NO issues. Only time I have had MAF issues was when I installed the EVOMs intake. I did remove the V-blow intake as it ate 3 MAFs in a week...LOL

i had on/off maf issues forever ( and coincidentally was running the bmc ) until i went back to the mahle. ..and no, i never over oiled it lol

now been on the same new bosch maf for 5 years +/- give or take absent issue and nary a cel. i like the idea of discarding a 15 dollar piece of paper twice a year.

the bmc was always buck nasty every time i pulled it out too. just not worth "it" imo.

fyi the bosch maf is far less sensitive to that peculiarity of which you speak, as my fried maf issues were always the bosch knockoff yet looked the same with same 124.00 part# mass airflow meters of the aftermarket kind, of unknown provenance and asian origin.

i hit the rev limiter more than i would like to say, and i have not one time ever fried a bosch maf that was factory new. also, that is usually associated with cars that have had their rev limiter raised as mine has.

Thin film and hot wire MAF measures air by attempting to keep an element at a specific temp while airflow is going over it. As airflow increases the element gets more and more heat applied until the sensor maxes out (not good btw). When airflow drops suddenly, as in hitting the limiter, if the MAF doesn't drop the heating current quickly enough it can pop like a Christmas bulb. Likely why knockoffs don't last in our vehicles. Tuned cars running high boost and more airflow are going to be more susceptible as would cars with intakes that are free flowing... Figured an explanation as to what can happen and why might help

Cheers guys, I isn't caused by hitting the limiter just when on full boost in higher gears under load, defo going to try the paper filter route this weekend as car is driving spot on other than throwing these lights on.

Check and make sure there are no unmetered air leaks on the intake side. Anything after the MAF is unmetered and could also cause issues if the car sees something whacky with airflow vs measured. This is a guess mind you but a somewhat educated one ;-)

those lights are enough to make any of us quite mad good luck w it. try the new maf new mahle, the tb reset upon first start, and here's to many miles absent "drive to workshop".

how quaint that little reminder always seems lol

K&N for 4 years now. Clean & re-oil twice per year. I'm using the same MAF that was in the car when I bought it. No CELs since tuned & added aftermarket exhaust in the first year.

EDIT: Oh, and I hit the rev limiter once in a while also.

For the B&M fan club, I have a virtually new B&M filter in the box. Never oiled, only used for a few thousand miles. $50

All makes me wonder if there's a corollary between tuned cars with a raised limiter blown mafs and pegging said limiter. Since per bkkmagics explanation I know I have blown out the knock off mafs with a voltage spike.

Wonder what ( if any ) impact the bm or kn has or does NOT have
