What are people doing for Traction? (high hp) Suspension, Tires, Diff?

I am currently on a Mickey Thompson Street, RWD. I am laying tracks 2-3 and even into 4th, and its getting sideways. Trying to find a good way to get more traction.

I am on a open diff now and going to change to LSD and I am wondering if the suspension would come into play here, it is an extremely stiff road racing setup that came with the car. Wondering if that comes into play and certain types of sway bars.....

Just wondering what setups people are running for their high HP applications and did anyone convert to a 997 awd system successfully?

you might want to consider a standalone engine management. this way you can have boost by gear or speed. starts off with less hp to get you going and adds boost as speed picks up.

I'd get a Guard 50/80 with the highest preload they'll build for you.
Align suspension with as little camber as possible...you might also be able to play with squat characteristics
Loosen the rear sway bar as much a possible(if you have an adjustable)
Soften spring/damper package

I may add in a boost controller that does the boost by gear.

I already have the "go straight" alignment lol. Honestly I think the suspension is way too stiff, the front end will bounce somewhat too.

Im gonna get the LSD in over winter, but I was pondering 997 front diff.

I have JRZ coilovers on there now with very stiff springs. ITs the older JRZ setup though. I think the shocks are going bad up front.

I have 18x11 in the rear with a 315/30/19. But I know my pressure was too high at 30psi, so I may drop that down to 18. Next season I might go to a custom 16inch wheel with more tire in the rear.

LSD is going in over winter, the season is basically over anyhow for me. Snowboarding plans take over soon.

Nice I may do that then.

I just don't know if the setup is a street friendly setup. I know I do have softer springs somewhere too.

FACT
open diff - 0.9bar spinning all the way
Wavetrack - 1.2bar still putting power to the ground

All play a role, suspension, traction control, etc but I would put first an LSD and see from there

any reason why you are choosing a torsion style diff over a clutch plate style diff?

Doesn't have to be serviced and will do the job for roll racing only. I discussed it with Bill at Bill Rader motorsports.

Doubt you'd ever have to service a Guard or P.M. Cup unit doing roll racing but you never know...
I'd imagine a clutch type diff with a strong preload would encourage the greatest 'static' traction + strong directional stability both on throttle and during coast down
Torsion units are typically 'better' diffs for low speed events, such as autocross
