19" wheels on a 996
#5
I think I had the same problem as you. I installed 19"s all around and found the rear rubbed ever-so-slightly. 19"x11" w/ et55. (Victor Equipment) I rolled the rear fender lip and now there are no rubbing issues. It's one of the drawbacks when installing wheels with an et60 or less. I've got a '99 nb.

They will not fit. As you tell, they are from C4S and this is Widebody and you have Normal body. From the pictures it seems, that they stick about 3 cm out. It is better to give them back to friend.

Is there any way they can be made to fit as they do look really good

+ 1. WB offset is 40mm. Therefore, your rears are sitting 15mm outward. Move on. FYI: When applying aftermarket rims, and attempting to avoid fit issues, the optimum offset would run +/- 5mm maximum from OEM.

You know, it's really hard to tell from your photos if the tire protrudes further than the outer edge of the fender. With my tires/wheels, the outer edge of the wheel is almost flush with the outer edge of the fender. The sidewall of the tire is almost flush with the fender but the tread is inside the lip of the fender. I really liked the wheels and didn't want to have to return them, couldn't anyway because tires were mounted, so I rolled the fenders. No rubbing issues and I was able to keep the tires/wheels. The ride is not that harsh but it's a sports car, it's not supposed to feel like you're sitting in your living room. JMO

I'm also running 19x11 on the rear of a narrow body 996. Even with smaller and somewhat stretched tires, it should would have rubbed had I not rolled the rear fenders. My car is also lowered on coilovers. The ride quality isn't suitable for daily driving, but then again, I didn't buy the car for daily driving either =)
mikegingell: Try to take some photos from the top down. You might be able to solve this problem with different sized tires and a fender roll if you really love the wheels.
