2007 replacement motor should have all new castings and 997-engine sources IMS, so a huge upgrade. Would definitely jump on that.
My C4s has a 2006 replacement motor, same thing - all 997 IMS stuff.

I would have it inspected and evaluated for any necessary maintenance/work. If clean and it meets your needs/desires, then go for it. You have to live with it, its color, its interior, tires, .... if you like it, buy it. No one else can do that.

I agree with this. Seems like a great upgrade. BiteEm...are you perhaps a seasoned eBay seller/buyer? That is what I always think of when I see the "A+++" type comments haha!
A PPI is only $100-200 at a Porsche dealership. I would pay this and make sure they don't see anything. Low miles is great, but sometimes it also is associated with failing parts since the oil isn't circulated much and things might have dried up from sitting so long.
Hope it works out to be a great purchase for you!

I would only worry about the accident. The new motor is good as you will not need to do much if anything to it and have a reliable car.
There are pros and cons to the newer IMS. It's not serviceable which is a con, but it is generally more reliable. You can feed oil to it or remove the seals to possibly make it more reliable, but there is not enough real world testing to make a valid conclusion.
Given what information you have provided and there is no hidden accident damage, I would consider buying the car.

i would go for it, assuming the ppi came back clean, or at least if it didnt I would use it negotiate the price down further to cover the necessary repair costs
having the new engine is a big plus...but the engine isnt the only thing that can go wrong with a car obviously, you can easily spend many thousands elsewhere, not getting a ppi would be foolish imo
