Choices - 2010 997 Carrera S or 2008 997 Turbo

Pricing for both choices is similar but I am so torn between PDK in the newer Carrera S model or the Turbo 😫 Would really appreciate the views of the Bros here who have experienced both! Thanks much!!

That Turbo should be priced high $60s to mid $70s depending in options, condition, and mileage. The 997.2 should be at least $10k less than that.

Don't drive the turbo unless you're prepared to buy it. Once you drive a forced induction 997, everything other than a GT3 will feel quite a bit slower.

1 vote for Turbo.

This "Bro" also votes for the turbo. Is it a 6MT or a Tiptronic?

I go with the TurBRO! Unless the C2S has an aerokit, the Turbo is not only faster but looks better.

Get both.. They are very different cars!

I had a 996 TT and now a 997.1 S both 6 speed. The 997 is way more daily drivable. I have more fun with it because I can open it up and not instantly be at 100MPH.

But then again, there was nothing like getting bolted in your seat when the turbo's spooled

Thanks for all the votes guys. Turbo (6 speed tip or manual if I can find one) seems the logical route notwithstanding my intention to use this as a daily driver. Any opinions on the PDK benefits on the other hand?

PDK is head and shoulders above Tip. If you're going for that type of transmission, I change my vote from 997.1 Turbo with Tip to 997.2 non-turbo with PDK - it's that big a difference. The Tip is OK in my Cayenne Turbo, but not in a 997.

I had TIP in a Cayenne S and hated it. Sloppy shifting and the location of the buttons on the steering wheel caused issues, accidentally shifting into manual when not ready. If you chose an auto go PDK!

Based on what you noted as options, my vote in order hierarchy, 997.2 Turbo, 997.2. I wouldn't even consider a 997.1 Turbo Tiptronic.

997.1TT has that little engine called Mezger and long racing heritage attached to it. 997.1TT is bottom out on prices and won't go down much from here. I used to owned 997.1S but I made a mistake test driven 997TT and bought it the next day. I don't DD my Turbo but it can be easily done with manual or Tip. My C63 assume the DD duty for hauling people and traffic congestion. My vote Turbo.
