Heffner Peformance Ford Gt 266.9 Standing mile
Today in Florida Ray Hofman's Yellow ford Gt demolished the standing mile record with a 266.9. Video coming shortly So a big congrats goes out to Jason Heffner for puting together one of the Badest Ford Gt's in the Land......

there's a lot of talk on other forums in regards to the speed claims and faulty / altered timing equipment
hopefully everything gets sorted out

I'm not here to dispute the speed. I would like to know what they did different from the TX Mile to gain 17 mph. 249.9 in TX and 266.9 in Miami.
Damn fast car and congrats to Heffner for building the beast.

Seems like some of what i have been saying for a long time with these makeshift MIAMI mile setups.. I have seen everything from radar guns used, to BS equipment, to Fantastic equipment setup by someone who has no clue how to set it up..
The places that have been as close to sanctioned for the Mile as it will get is Maxton and Texas.. IF these timers are off by a few inches as far as placement, MPH goes 3-10mph.. I know that for a fact as i was VERY good friends with the guy Dave Owen who was in charge of Maxtons.. May he rest in peace..
He said not only the distance of the timer will effect it but even the height will.. if it catches the bumper instead of the wheels it changes the speed..
