600hp possible from DBS?

Seems that the aston v12 is underpowered. Being 6.0 and only 500some hp, seems a bit low. The new v12v and vanquish are both in the mid 550s with 600hp possibilities, can the 600hp number be obtained from a DBS?

Bamford Rose have a project under way aiming for 650 BHP from a rework of the V12 similar to their project on my V8
It's early days yet but it will be a monster!

You can get an easy 50 hp with headers and a tune. The headers are an extremely restrictive design.

We have a powerkit that bolts on, can be sent anywhere in the world and which produces 50BHP: http://www.velocityap.com/Aston-DB9-...pnoexhaust.htm

Beyond this, gains start to get very expensive. To get much more than that, you'll need to open up the engine and start building.

So yes, you can get 600HP, just depends how much you're willing to spend.

Stewart,
Similar gains be expected from the vantage v12?
What would one expect to pay labor wise?
Any factory warranty issues or codes?
Thanks in advance

Yes, gains should be exactly the same.

The installation is around 12 hours, so the cost is going to depend upon labour rates. It has been installed for us at a variety of main dealers and independent specialists. In your area, I could recommend an Aston Martin racing team who could do the install no problem.

No codes on the V12V, full software integration. Warranty is always a worthwhile question to ask. The truth is that while Aston Martin probably doesn't like or won't endorse what you are looking to do, they are unlikely to attempt a blanket warranty denial based on modifications.

For example, you change to aftermarket wheels and your radio head unit fails, I doubt you'll get any pushback. On related components you might.

In the USA you are also protected by the Lanham Act, which states that it is incumbent upon the warranty issuer to prove that a modification cause the failure in question.

However, since warranty is a fair concern, VelocityAP has you covered - we include with this package a 25 year warranty on all exhaust components against corrosion and workmanship. 1,000,000 miles on air filters. And most importantly, £2,000,000GBP (Roughly $3,000,000 USD) of insurance coverage on your engine for our ECU Tuning process. Includes public liability.

In the real world, we have installed this kit on many cars, in many locations including for the owners of Aston Dealerships and it performs very well and is well integrated with all the systems on the car.

On this car, the owner drove back to back with a V12VS, and reported that the modified Zagato was substantially quicker. In his words "You can light up the tires in almost any gear at almost any time. That thing is a monster."

50hp with headers is a great bump. What about a tune?

50 HP is for headers, high flow motorsport cats, ECU Tune and air filters.

Due to the nature of the modifications to the header assembly, you have to do all at once in order to be properly integrated.

You can of course do secondary cats + tune or filters etc., but the headers require both the cat section to be changed, and ECU tuning for proper integration.
