Brake controller for 2006 Cayenne S?

I just installed the OEM hitch on my 2006 Cayenne S and took it to the dealer for the wiring and coding. I would like to install a brake controller in order to tow a 3110 featherlite. I did a search and there seems to be a lot of informationa/misinformation of what works and doesn't. Apparently the 06s were a bit different that the 04 when it comes to the brake wire / connector under the dash. Does anyone have a suggestion for a simple easy install? I am not really concerned with cost, I just wanna get this done as painlessly as possible and the local hitch places were not of much help. Anyone use the RF prodigy. Supposedly that works without and wiring?

I could be wrong, but I have the tow package and I think the brain for that is pretty intuitive. I think it controls your trailer brakes in conjunction with the car.

The controller is intuitive in that when the trailer is hooked up it modifies the shift pattern and will set off the alarm if someone disconnects the trailer light plug. It does not however control the brakes. The wires necessary are behind the dash--ie +12, gnd, brake signal, and wire to trailer brakes (which goes thru the control module and ends up at the 7pin trailer receptacle). You still need to provide the brake controller that would attach to these 4 wires.

I had the Prodigy P2 installed at a local trailer store. Works perfect.

As mentioned, I was thinking of the "Prodigy RF" for my setup.
Anyone have any issues with this?

I have the Prodigy RF works great- no wiring needed, no holes for mounting brake controller, just attach to trailer plug in 7 pin cord and hand held control plugs into lighter. Set up is quick. I tow a 28ft travel trailer with a 2008 Cayenne S

Thanks for the update. I should have the controller unit tomorrow. Glad to hear it was as effortless as the advertise it.

I have heard that some of the Cayenne's, power outlets have a slight fluctuating to them leading to issues with this setup. What port are you using?

I read it it something with led brake lights, I was not able to connect controller on cayenne. I had a Toyota sequoia that I plugged in to trailer and then controller set up No problem, just needs to connect the first time for set up then it just comes right on each time in the Cayenne. I think on the Prodigy Web site it explains this on how to set up.

Thanks for all your help!

Great photo but, aren't, you exceeding the tow capacity of the Cayenne? Glad to hear that the port doesn't matter with the RF version.

I should have it tomorrow.
