CEL: P0446 Evaporative Emission System Vent
Hi guys,
Recently had the CEL come on in my 2005 Cayenne S. It was right after fueling, so I went and re-tightened the gas cap...after a bit of driving it went off.
A few days later, the CEL came back on. After numerous tightens of the gas cap, the light is still on after plenty of driving. Had the code scanned and it came back:
P0446: Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit
I have done some reading, and it seems that there is a valve that is electronically activated to vent or keep pressure in the tank as needed.
Does anybody have any experience with this code or problem? Is this valve easy to change? I have yet to go digging and try further testing...I'd appreciate any insight before I dive further into this.
Thanks in advance. This forum rocks.
Best regards,
Cam.

I don't remember if it was the same code or not but I replaced the gas cap and my evaporative leak went away.
There have been a couple other threads where people weren't so lucky.
Here's one... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...me-please.html
Here's another... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...over-over.html
And you can probably find multiple threads on purge valves etc.
