GT2 RS as a appreciating collectors car.

GT2 RS as a appreciating collectors car.
Given the option to purchase a new 991 Turbo S vs a 997 GT2 RS which would you choose? Given the limited production run of the GT2 RS do you feel this collector car will appreciate in value similar to the GT3 RS 4.0

I think so. Its already happening with the .1GT3RS. Being 6-7yr old cars, they are still fetching for more than the new GT3.

I have been watching the values lately and equal to the appreciation consideration is the lack of depreciation. I do not think we will see an appreciation in value for the 991 Turbo S. However, I have been wrong before.

How long before.. no one.. wants to deal with one of these fussy clutches and having to stir that shifter? Don't laugh. How many new guys coming up with experience in anything .. or a care.. about DIY driving?
I am not saying this will happen. I am saying it very well may be how it evolves. The next generation of GT2s, if they build them, will NOT have a clutch and will be even more loaded with driver's aids. In some enthusiast's minds the "real" GT2s ended with the 996 as that was the last real DIY example.. but how many people complain about all the stuff stuck on the 997 examples? PDK is just one more thing.
Now the real issue. I do believe the GT2 RS will be desired, yes. HOW desired will depend on what Porsche offers next. That, and the only way to assure potential upside is to not drive them. Isn't that a laugh?!

The 991 turbo definitely won't be an appreciating car. Ive seen too many people get board with it after 6 months. There are a lot of 3-6 month old turbo S's for sale out there at 15-20K off sticker with only a few thousand miles on them. Some new ones are being discounted 7-10%. The new GT3RS might go up in value only because they aren't making many of them. Porsche will make a Turbo S for anyone who can afford one, not so with the new RS.

I think it's probably a safe bet (not an investment) to buy one and drive it here and there knowing you can at least get what you paid for it. I don't see them appreciating heavily for a while... not like the 993 anyway. They're certainly holding their value with reasonably low (10k) mileage though.
