That guy has no real hp producing mods. Coming from owning a modded '02 M3, it's unlikely he's taking down all these 997S's with what he has.

I have a lot of respect for M3's. Two of my buddies have them and they definitely are nice, quick cars. I don't know about the 997S but I know my SC'd 996 takes em out.

 

I have both the E46 M3 and the 997S, and there's NO WAY the E46 M3 can take the 997S w/ just those mods he listed.

Now, if the E46 M3 was S/C'ed, then yeah, I'll give him that. But, with his mod list, there's just NO WAY.

 

i had both e36 and e46 M3. i still miss them. but no way in hell were they faster than my 997S.

 

My cousin has an e36 M3 with Dinan supercharger and software. We race all the time from a standing start, a roll, and on the freeway. He has NEVER been able to pass my 997S. I've seen his e36 M3 rip stock e46 M3's to shreds (even those w/ the 20hp IPOD mod like the guys in the thread : )

So I agree: that guy is full of it!

 

But does your cousin have his windows tinted? Just think of the aerodynamic advantage that provides . . .

You gotta do the math here guys. He says he's beaten not 1, not 2, but, count 'em, 3 997S's. You don't think he's making this stuff up do you?

My brother had an M3 with dinan stage 2 upgrades and we also have 2 M5's back home... THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOT A CHANCE BY ANY POSSIBLE OR IMPOSSIBLE MEANS that the M3 can beat it...

We did a lot of runs and the M5 just keeps going and going and going till it hits the speed governor. AMAZING ENGINE!!!

As far as the 997... doesn't have a chance neither.

Anyway... this guy made me laugh a LOT!

Mexico blue... my cousin does have his windows tinted for that aerodynamic benefit you mentioned. I think he needs to talk to this guy and start using the IPOD mod and such so he can start pulling away from my car!
