When you raced Adam's car wasnt he having problems? He was shooting black smoke right and then he took his car to AA and got the problem fixed. He then said it was running much faster. Is this not correct, the thread is still on E46fanatics, so why try to make BS up?

Did he tell me to my face that the car is virtually the same after AA "fixed" it? Yes....

Do i know when to believe what he tells me is the truth? NO. Thats why i dont associate with him. I cannot tell when hes telling me a story or when its the truth.

is his car still shooting out black smoke to this day (when it is supposedly running right)? yes.....

Have i raced his car "with the fixed kit" and on spray? No.

Excess smoke out of the exhasut is due to not having any cats. Its still making the same amount of boost it was making before.

I hope that clears things up a bit.

any claim of his should be taken with a grain of salt. The guy even told me that he suspected AA of giving him messed up tuning at the beginning and swapping it with a new version after he complained and sent the car down there to get "fixed". Moral of the story: there are some you can trust to tell you the truth and others that.... well... dont exactly remember things as they happened... keep that in mind.

Were keeping it civil. Good you answered some questions. It appears you dont know too much about cars. Having cats doesnt make your car shoot out black smoke. My car has no cats, theres no black smoke. Black smoke is when your burning alot of oil for some reason.

 

interesting. So youre saying two identical cars running properly (one with cats, one without) will put out the same amount of visible exhaust? Thats really interesting.... Sorry, youre wrong. I would agree with you that the car had a major problem if it was billowing black exhaust clouds (which im sure is the story you were told because I was told this before i saw it happen). I had seen that car almost 4 times a week for a couple of months and although there was a visible puff of black smoke upon the instant of hitting full throttle, it was barely noticeable. Furthermore, it wasnt happening all the time. Over all that time, i had seen it possible a total of 4 times over a period of a couple months! It was a very minor puff and should not be considered anything abnormal. If the car is running fine now, but its still putting out a puff of black smoke, then i think thats good proof against your claim. Please explain otherwise.

I would love for you to tell me that your exhaust tips are the same before and after you had the cats taken out. If you say they were the same, I know youre a liar. So waht say you?

Car is shooting black smoke isnt the best thing. My car has never shot black smoke.

 

youre obviously misunderstanding. Driving directly behind him i would see it. Its not noticeable unless you are directly behind the exhaust. Im 100% positive your car puts out some smoke whether you see it or not is a different story... SOrry to say, but i dont think its humanly possible to be looking at your exhaust tips while floorign the car. THe point is, it was such a tiny amount of smoke. It was NOT "shooting smoke out."

Obviously we have different opinions... I have mine, you have yours. I have first hand knowledge, you dont. Its all speculation on your part. Please call up AA and find out if they touched anything with his oil system. The car is running the exact same way now as it was before. Your just missing the big picture and nitpicking just to argue.

I have my car here. If anyone with a local STOCK 997S from this board wants to run, id be more than happy to do it just to show you that an N/A m3 can beat one.

 

Adams postg said he looked in his rear view mirror and would see huge puffs of black smoke. He even said your brother told him etc.. Thats it
End of convo, his car wasnt running right, it makes sense, black smoke you stayed only 2 cars behind etc.. Get it?

 

frankly, i dont care what he said in his post; ive already been clear about how i feel about his claims. Furthermore, my brother was in my car when we saw the puff ONCE! remember he did have a 300 pound stereo in the car when he raced me. The point is, i know how fast my car is and have nothing to prove to you. I know its faster than a 997S... anything to say to that?
