Year: 1950
Make: BMW
Model: M3
Price: $40000
Mileage: 0
Color: any
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing

Looking for a 1988-1991 E30 M3. Open to all colors, and location in the country.
Would prefer an "as close to original" car as possible. Originality is more important that mileage. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you know of any cars for sale.
Thanks.

Yeah, I think $20k is long gone. But, nice cars seem to pop up now and again. I'm not afraid to spend some money on a clean car. The biggest problem is that so many are abused or modified.

Abused and modified is correct, how about undisclosed mileage and accidents, shady ownership records, 'restorations' that are anything but perfect (polish over a turd). Having familiarity with the platform and many cars that pop out there given the current market dynamics, things are really scary. I have yet to see a 'no stories', original car come up recently (last 12 months).
Yes, many hate EAG for charging what they do (and perhaps having something to do with driving prices to levels where they are today), but they do their due diligence and have very strict guidelines what goes into their inventory. So some buyers prefer to pay that 'premium' and get the level of assurance they need.
Otherwise you can end up with something like this: presently on Ebay described as a low mileage, 3 owner 'gem'. Just take a look what the car looked like a few years ago, and there have been more owners over the last yr than the seller claims in its lifetime!

Look to you as "Never seen rain, let alone snow...no rust. this car has it all and is a great investment piece" - seller's words. I generally skip any add when the seller refers to a car as a 'great investment'...
