Aston Martin Racing Green DB9 is guaranteed to make you swoon.

Any connoisseur of style, elegance, and driving pleasure is going to appreciate this DB9 we came across on Bring a Trailer while contemplating exotic daily drivers for new vanilla luxury car money. We were looking at cars for under $40,000 but someone only paid $500 over that for a gloriously British piece of road munching machinery.

The bottom line is that Aston Martins are excellent value for money right now. The spec sheet tells you that, despite being a 15+ year-old car. The V12 is a warrant-replaced item attached to a Graziano 6-speed transmission with 19″ 10-spoke alloy wheels which aren’t that expensive to put great rubber on nowadays, and the Aston Martin Racing Green paint is over Moon Shadow leather with green carpeting and wood trimmed with silver.

To bring this particular DB9 up to date, it has an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth added, and just needed a brake job and probable handbrake adjustment to get out on the road and truly enjoy. There are a few other very minor aesthetic issues, but all they do is make this something you wouldn’t be afraid to get out in and enjoy driving.

For perspective, somebody pointed out in the comments that you could pay that for an optioned out Mazda MX-5. They’re correct and, sure, that little 4-banger won’t cost Aston Martin numbers to service but, more importantly, you wouldn’t have a V12 wailing away as you row up and down the manual gearbox and you certainly won’t feel particularly special. Heads won’t turn as you cruise past and, much more important than that, you won’t step into the garage and just stare at it for a few minutes before even opening the door. Because with this DB9, we couldn’t help but look back and stare.
