Alex Van Halen Mazda RX-7

We’ve got it bad, so bad for this Mazda once owned by rock royalty spotted in the 6 Speed Online forums.

We were checking out CarBuzz earlier and were stoked to see the 6 Speed Online forums mentioned in a post about forum member PaKMaN selling a 1994 Mazda RX-7. While that is a pretty sweet ride on its own, this particular model has also been runnin’ with the devil; previously belonging to legendary drummer and rock icon Alex Van Halen, of Van Halen fame.

Van Halen has been the genius behind the drums on some of the most notable and influential hard rock hits including “Panama,” “Hot for Teacher,” and dozens more. In short, he rocks. As does his taste in cars!

This sweet red cherry bomb is powered by LS power. PaKMaN writes:

Up for sale is my 6.2L V8 (LS3) R2 Package RX-7. Car just hit 20k miles a few months ago. I bought it a couple years ago from rock legend Alex Van Halen. Had the car serviced at DNA Garage last year. Car has PS, AC. A/C has a leak so hoses may need to be replaced. Everything else works perfectly, car drives great. Smogged and registered, title in hand.

Shockingly, there are only 20k original miles on the ticker. It has the R2 Package, and a crate GM LS3 motor making at least 450-500 hp. Mated to a T56 6 speed, it is capable of handling the power and torque with ease. Additionally it boasts a 8.8 LSD. This velocity and power is sure to cause an eruption.

And it all the rock n’ roll cred you could ever want. Certainly, in a car this sweet we’d never ask where have all the good times gone–they are here! And this is the kind of car that makes us want to drive the night away.

The interior is clean, and we love the lines of this unchained and untamed ride. So if you are looking for a car that will definitely make the cradle rock, this is it. And when it comes to a sleek beast like the Mazda RX-7, everybody wants some!
