Question VH Platform DB9/DBS/Vanq - Aftermarket Wheel Sizing Opinions

Hey folks,

I love everything about my '13 DB9 except for the factory 10 spoke flat-face 20" wheels. They look fine from certain angles, but on profile view they just don't sit right with me. I know in the 'homeland,' people don't really do aftermarket anything, but I'm interested in switching styles to a wheel with a more basketweave look to add some density to the wheel design, and some concavity in the rear.

Specifically, I'm looking at HRE 520M's (sample below). My car is black, lowered just under 1", and currently using 23/18mm spacers to make up for the horrid factory offset. I'd finish the wheels in brushed+clear for some nice contrast - I think it'll be a neat look, but I can't afford a mistake!

My big question is: 20" or 21"? (Or 20 front / 21 rear?)

I keep going back and forth. 20 seems like an appropriate size wheel for the car, but then again, at certain angles (especially focusing on the rear) it looks too small. 21's do seem to look pretty good on the DB9/S/Vanq's, but some application of 21" wheels on these cars almost looks like the wheels are too big. And 245/30/21 + 295/25/21 tires are almost rubber-band thin.

I can only do this once, and don't want to regret the wrong size. What do y'all think?

That looks really nice! I think the V8V has a slightly smaller profile than the DB9, so I always take it as 20" on a V8V = 21" on DB9.

Aftermarket wheels

I had 20" Front - 21" rear V/S Wheels on my V8 Vantage - looked a lot like the new Aston Wheels - and on my current V12S I had Forza Forged wheels commissioned in the Aston Martin design but at 20" instead of 19" with 1" extra rear offset and 1/2" front offset specifically designed to clear the carbon fiber brake setup.
