Doug DeMuro Reviews Aston Martin DB11

Step Inside This $250,000 Aston Martin DB11, Trust Us, You Won’t Want to Leave

If you don’t find him completely annoying, Doug DeMuro is one of the more entertaining and informative auto reviewers around. But whatever your opinions are about the reviewer, you probably won’t find anything annoying about the car being reviewed in this video: the brand-spanking-new 2017 Aston Martin DB11.

Though it’s “a car so new you can’t even buy it yet,” DeMuro gets his hands on one thanks to Summit Short Hills in northern Jersey. They obviously like the way their logo looks behind such a special car.

How special is it? It’s “a car that’s so much better than it’s predecessor, the DB9, that Aston Martin skipped a number.” Ba da dum.

This particular DB11 is even more special, because it’s the first one Summit Short Hills has gotten on the lot. As such, they’ve specced it out with all the plush options, to the tune of $254,084!

That includes the “under bonnet jewelry pack,” which tacks on $2,270 for gold touches under the hood. You know how to make a twin-turbo V12 with 600 horsepower and 516 lb-ft even better? Gold.

As we’ve come to expect from DeMuro, there are plenty of rimshots in the vid, some of which may miss their mark. But we’re not here for the comedy, we’re here for the car. And DeMuro does an excellent job of pointing out all the “unusual features, weird quirks, and crazy options” in his 12-minute review.

DeMuro starts off inside the plush cabin, where the leather adornments are completely immersive, right down to the mirror cover behind the sun visor. There’s also a center console that opens electronically. And stereo speakers that pop up like ’80s headlamps.

Before DeMuro takes her for a spin though, he wisely shows off the DB11’s sonorous exhaust notes. Notes, plural, because there is a discernible difference between Grand Touring and Sports Plus modes.

It takes a while, but DeMuro finally gets behind the wheel around the 7:30-minute mark. We’ll go ahead and let him relay his excitement about the car. Here’s a hint though: he likes it.
