F-Type R Coupe Goes AWD
The Jaguar F-Type R Coupe has fast become one of the most celebrated cars of this year. Between its wonderfully obnoxious exhaust note, and its wonderfully tail happy rear, I personally love this car.
Now however, Jag is getting ready to release a new version of the coupe, but with a bit of a twist.
Instead of just having the psychotic supercharged V8 power the rear wheels, the new F-Type R will also be available in an All-Wheel Drive layout.
While not a constant AWD feature, the coupe system will be almost always rear drive biased, but under certain conditions up to 50% of the power can be set to the front wheels.
Essentially, this car gives you all the leeriness everyone knows and loves already, but can correct itself if everything goes wrong. Or you encounter snow.
One thing immediately came to mind when the news broke and that was rally. I’d love to see the R coupe sliding along the hills of Wales or executing a Finnish flick here in the States! Jaguar, it’s now up to you to make this happen.
