The week before a major auto show is always a tornado of preparation for manufacturers. Press releases, videos, images, social media posts are all being readied for the full blitz of a new car release. As the days crept up to the Geneva Motor Show,  Lamborghini was polishing its newest supercar, the Centenario, a 100th birthday salute for founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.

Unfortunately for the Italians, somebody pressed “publish” on a video just a little too early this morning, and the public got its first real lick of the car (it was reclaimed shortly after). Shockingly, that’s it right up above the text in all of its screen captured blurry glory. Weird place for us to put it, I know.

Unlike the Bugatti Chiron that ate everybody’s lunch (probably for the whole week) today, the power on this guy comes from a naturally aspirated V12. All 770 horses. No steroids. No GMOs. No superchargers. No turbochargers (let alone FOUR ahembugattiahem). With power to all four wheels, that’s good enough for a 0-62 time of 2.8 seconds. The body is all carbon fiber on top of a carbon fiber monocoque. It also has ground effects and an extended rear wing for more down force.

Production-wise, 20 coupes and 20 convertibles will be made (and are probably already sold to the most elite level of customers).

The candles will be lit for the full reveal later today/tonight/tomorrow (March 1).
