Manual Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

With only 7,000 miles on the odometer and that glorious gated shifter plate, this manual Lamborghini Murcielago will bring big bids.

The term “dream car” gets thrown around quite a bit. However, for many folks, it doesn’t get much more dreamy than a six-speed manual Lamborghini Murcielago. It’s hard to argue with, quite frankly. The screaming sensation that is a Lamborghini V12, coupled with the visceral experience of manually rowing your own gears, is truly a match made in heaven. Combining that with an open-top roadster? Well, what more could you possibly ask for?

Extremely low miles, perhaps? Great news if you happen to be in the market. This 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster with the elusive six-speed is currently available on  Bring A Trailer. As you’d expect, it’s going to bring quite a pretty penny. At the time of writing, this rarity of a raging bull has two days left for bidding and already sits north of $450,000.

Gone are the days of the Murcielago models selling for what felt like reasonably attainable numbers. Of course, if you’re in the know, you’ll know that the combination of manual and roadster adds up to a big price tag.

Manual Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster Interior

All the Glorious Details

This Murcielago features a mostly-black interior with red inserts on the seats. While many examples were finished in bold colors, this particular example wears an esteemed coat of Grigio Antares. It’s a bit understated, but then, the car’s body lines really speak for themselves. It does pair quite nicely with the interior as the soft splash of color in the seats accents the rest of the fairly tame appearance. That is, as tame as these cars can appear.

There’s nothing tame about the power plant, of course. Seated behind the passenger compartment is a 6.2-liter V12 with 572 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t ever heard the roar of a Murcielago, do yourself a favor and pull up some videos. If you’ve got a nice set of headphones, put those on, too. Trust us. You’ll get it.

The engine sends power through the magnificent six-speed manual transmission and feeds it to all four wheels. With every shift comes a pleasant little mechanical click as the gear lever contacts the shift plate. While you’ve got the headphones on, go ahead and give that a listen, too.

It’s a subtle and seemingly insignificant noise to most, sure. However, for many car enthusiasts, it’s one of the most satisfying and pleasant sounds one could hear.

Low-Mileage, Well-Featured

The Murcielago features the (frankly, necessary) front-axle lift system to prevent burying the bumper in and out of parking lots and other similar situations. In addition, it has a speed-activated rear spoiler, limited-slip rear differential, xenon headlights, and 18-inch Hercules alloy wheels. With only 7,000 miles on the odometer, everything is in fantastic shape. The seller does note that some of the interior buttons are a bit sticky. In addition, the tires seem to be original, as the auction notes they’re dated from 2005.

At the end of the day, we’re left with a phenomenal and remarkably preserved example of a fabulous moment in Lamborghini’s history. The days of the manual transmission are gone. Of course, the days of this iconic V12 platform are gone, too. Whoever manages to score this beauty is certain to be satisfied with their purchase.

As usual, though, we do just have to cross our fingers in hopes that the next owner will at least occasionally take it out for a drive. It’d be a shame to see such an iconic car trapped in a garage for the majority of its life.
