New Tesla Roadster Promises 0-60 in 1.9 Seconds & 620-Mile Range

Tesla aims high, once again, with promises of extra-ludicrous acceleration and longest-of-all range on a battery’s full charge.

Tesla’s Elon Musk likes to talk, and talk big things. After all, there’s a reason why the man made electric cars “cool” and also gets to play with rockets for his other “job.” Oh, and did we mention he’s also a billionaire? So, kids, if you dream big, and talk big, apparently you’ll one day have a lot of money and do whatever the hell you want to do. Capish?

If you thought that claims of a 0-60-mph time of 1.9 seconds were crazy, then just wait until you hear what the claimed top speed of the Roadster is taunted to be…drumroll, please. 250 miles per hour! It’s the year 2017, and a company who often delivers cars with mismatched body panels and faulty components just claimed their new car will set the world’s fastest production vehicle 0-60 time, the world’s highest top speed of any electric vehicle, and have the longest mile range of any electric car. Well alright, then!

Tesla

All outrageous statistics aside, the new Tesla Roadster is, by all means, a gorgeous-looking machine despite its configuration being somewhat awkward. Unlike most (or any) roadster out there, this one seats four people and boasts all-wheel-drive. Furthermore, the 200kWh battery is expected to pretty much double the current range found in the P100D’s which we think is actually quite likely.

When considering that the Tesla Model 3 still isn’t rolling out of the factory steadily and orders are severely delayed (as everyone expected), the development of the new, $200,000 Roadster will most likely still be taking place for years and years to come.

What do you think?
