New Video of Ferrari’s F150/F70/Enzo Roaring Around Fiorano

The V12 isn’t dead yet. At least, that’s what we can tell from the sound of Ferrari’s test mule testing at Fiorano. Thank goodness for that, by the way. I love the F12, but the world wants… needs another mid-engine V12 from Maranello. They’re a dying breed, really, and Ferrari deserves at least one more v12 super car before succumbing to emissions regulations and economic feasibility.

In truth, “Project F150” sounds very similar to the F12. They share the same engine, of course, so that shouldn’t be horribly surprising. Besides the powerplant though, the cars are completely different. While the F12 might make enough power to bump start a small star, it’s also a heavy, huge GT car. At least it’s huge in comparison to the F70. I’ve been lead to believe that the F70s will weigh somewhere close to 2,200 lbs thanks to Ferrari’s Millechili project.

Even with the extra tech and hybrid hardware packed on, I don’t anticipate it being much heavier than 2,500lbs. Thats 2,500lbs and an excess of 900hp. That should be reason enough to pay attention to Ferrari’s latest creation. Unless McLaren’s P1 is a miracle of engineering or Porsche’s 918 suddenly becomes much lighter, the F70 is set to become the fastest thing on four wheels when it drops. Maybe not in terms of top speed, but probably in every other metric.
