Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet to Debut at Los Angeles Autoshow

Porsche Carrera Turbo Cabriolet (7)
What’s better than the turbocharged thrill of a new 911 Turbo S? There’s only one car I’m thinking of that could offer a similar experience to the new boosted 911s, and no, I’m not thinking of a Boxster that’s been worked over by 9ff (although… that would be a GREAT experience.) I’m talking about the Turbo Cabriolet. The standard Turbo and Turbo S are already finished. All that’s left is to give new drivers a chance to put the top down.

Nothing says “look at me” like a convertible, so debuting at the Los Angeles autoshow is appropriate. Even with the top up, the car is an attention getter. The 991 is the sleekest design for the Carrera yet. Of course, you really start getting attention when you put the pedal down. They’ve got 520 horsepower in the Turbo model and 560 horsepower in the Turbo S.

Getting your hands on a boosted 991 will cost you. The Turbo Cabriolet will run $161,650 and the Turbo S will cost a whopping $194,850. Yeah. Not cheap. But that’s the price it’ll cost you for Porsche’s fastest 991 and the luxury of 200mph with the top down. See them in the flesh this fall at the LA International Auto Show.
