It sure is exciting to view brand new performance parts bound for a 15-year old Porsche.

When you overhaul your brakes and suspension, there is something inherently personal about the affair. New suspension, hubs, brakes; none of this will ever really be noticed by a passerby, perhaps even one well attuned to Porsches. No, these modifications are only really ever done to the benefit of the driver. Hidden behind wheels and fenders, these upgrades are your little secret. That is, until you lay down a personal best lap time a few seconds quicker than you’ve ever set before. Or you create a thread Like msv’s thread here, filled with gorgeous images of the parts you’ve just spent hours upon hours installing.

This is a seriously competent suspension and brake build, if we’re quite honest, and msv’s 996 Turbo now likely outperforms a lot of newer and ostensibly “better” sports cars while looking largely stock. Ohlins Road & Track coilover suspension is the heart of the upgrade, but everything else here is absolutely gorgeous and needs to be seen to be believed. We really love when someone plays “parts Lego” with their Porsche, and there are proper Porsche Motorsport 997 GT3 Cup components mixed with street 997 components mixed with 991 brake calipers and a few custom one-off items.

If you’re a sucker for a delivery of new or freshly reconditioned components, you need to check out this thread and the gallery below. We’re blown away by how well this project is presented, and we’ve never really spent the time to look at how intricately engineered some of these components truly are. If you can wade into this thread and not feel compelled to start ordering full catalogs of brand new components, we fear there may not be any help available for you. You know you’ve always wanted nearly fourteen inches of rotor and 991 PCCB calipers, right? Treat yourself.
