Porsche 911 Turbo S Obliterates the Drag Strip
Even in stock form, the 911 Turbo S is one of the fastest-accelerating cars in the world, let alone modified and on a prepped surface.
When Porsche unveiled the 911 Turbo S it took the Porsche community by surprise. While the horsepower figures in recent models had slowly been creeping up through the years, the idea of a “regular” 911 with nearly 600 horsepower directly from the factory simply seemed outrageous.
Even more outrageous was its spec sheet, claiming performance figures such as a 2.8-second 0-60-mph time and a top speed of 205 mph. Well, it seems that for some folks that’s not enough, as this video by DragTimes further proves.
What you see here is a stunning, and I repeat, stunning, Porsche 911 Turbo S in Riviera Blue. Its owner has outfitted a “full race exhaust” without cats, and a Stage 2 tune from Champion Motorsports. According to the video’s description, the 911 puts out 675 horsepower, which is 95 more than the stock trim and 68 more than the Turbo S Exclusive model.

Despite the blue beauty being lined up against a McLaren 720S and a Tesla P100D, the folks who handle the channel have decided to postpone the result until a later time. What they do show us it’s the result of the clean run the Turbo S put down the drag way. It managed to do a 0-60 mph time of only 2.54 seconds and accomplished the quarter-mile in 10.285 seconds at nearly 134 mph.
While such performance is mind-blowing, it’s right around most of us would expect out of a $200,000 super Porsche. It will certainly be interesting to witness it going up against the McLaren and Tesla.
What do you think the result will be?
