Porsche Design Unveils Ultimate Bespoke Watch Program

Launched in Germany in July, Porsche Design Timepieces program arrives in the U.S., offers up to 1.5-million potential design combos.
What pairs well with your Porsche of choice? A piece from Porsche Design, of course. Since 1972, the lifestyle arm of the company puts the Porsche touch on everything that can’t be driven, beginning with watches. The first 20 watches were made to honor long-time employees on the line. From then on, the team took watchmaking to levels seen by few others.
Now, Porsche Design opens the floodgates with their Timepieces bespoke program. Originally launched in Germany this July, the program arrives in the United States with an English-language website, and the ultimate choice in customization.

“No other car manufacturer or watch brand currently offers such a customizable and exclusive program of this kind,” said Porsche Design CEO Jan Becker. “The timepieces business unit is extremely important for Porsche Design globally and in the U.S., and we believe we are keeping pace with the general desire for more individualization in watches.”
How customizable, though? Try 1.5 million potential combinations. We’re talking everything from quick-swap watch bands to customizable watch movements. That’s right! Even the movement, dubbed WERK 01.100, features customizable components to make your watch truly yours.

“For more than 30 years now, customers have been able to enhance their personal dream car with many individual details through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur – right up to an absolute one-off vehicle,” says Porsche Cars North America boss Klaus Zellmer.
“This experience has now been expanded with the ability to design a Porsche Design chronograph based on an individual’s unique personal taste or car configuration. It’s an experience that ultimately ends with the customer taking ownership of a Porsche masterpiece they designed themselves.”

All one needs to do to make their own watch through the Porsche Design Timepieces program is visit the online configurator. After choosing every last detail for the watch, the order is sent to, or brought into, any Porsche dealer in the U.S. Eight to 12 weeks and some $6,000 to $12,500 later, the new watch is ready to be picked up.
