Porsche GT3 Models Past And Present Take To The Track

By -

Listen to the pure aural delights of Porsche’s most revered GT3 model.

No other brand has pedigree quite like Porsche. In fact, it’s something easily felt in almost every sports model they produce. But rising to the top of the food chain is the venerable GT3 and GT3 RS models. Light, simple and with an engine that breathes without assistance, arguably the most pure. Since the 996, Porsche has steadily brought out a new and improved version, with each successive one having us scratch our heads thinking, “how can they possibly improve upon that? Yet, they do.

This video is much like a GT3 RS. There’s no fluff, and there’s no distracting soundtrack. You get amazing visuals, and delightful, crisp audio. Sometimes that’s all you need to appreciate a car like the GT3 RS, especially the newer ones which forego turbos and rev to a ballistic 9,000 RPM. No one needs to hear background music over a six-cylinder soundtrack like that. And yes, for the true enthusiasts listening, we did hear the  ahem interesting choice of audio dubbed over the 996.

GT3 RS models

Once it comes to the new GT3 RS models, we’re given a look at the different production colors available. Surprisingly, each color completely changes the persona of the car. On the palette are Guards Red, GT Silver, Racing Yellow and Lizard Green.

As locations go, there couldn’t be a better fit for Porsche GT3 than the Nurburgring. Not only does the ‘Ring showcase how competent and planted the new GT3 RS is, but it also shows that it’s still a car with soul, and one you can have fun with. While the grip is immense, you can still kick the back-end out for some tail-happy action. Who ever said the Germans can’t have any fun has obviously never driven a GT3 RS.
