This is a great recap of this year’s season opener at Sebring, and an awesome introduction if you’re not familiar with the Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup. It’s the largest single-make series in the States, and it’s kind of like the American Le Mans Series’ farm league, allowing drivers a chance to sharpen their skills before jumping to the big show.
First off, given the technical wizardry they achieve with their cars, it seems like the guys at Stuttgart could probably figure out how to add subtitles to this video. You know, for the fans who don’t speak German. It’s not like North America is Porsche’s largest market or anything. But enough whining.
This is Eric Clapton’s one-off Ferrari 458 SP12 leaving a London dealership. The SP stands for “Special Program,” and the 12 presumably stands for “2012.” With the two-tone paint and b-pillar tweaks, it invokes the dead-sexy looks of the BB 512, and according to the YouTube description, it was originally supposed to sport a V12.
