Watching Paul Walker Drive a Hotted-Up GT-R is Blissfully Sad

It’s been about two and a half years since Paul Walker passed, but it still feels unreal. Beyond the acting and on-screen personality, people who knew him say the world lost an incredible person that day who had a light soul and a great heart. Some new footage of Walker was posted by GT Channel this week, and it’s a good clip that shows some of his joyous personality.

Though parts of this video have been posted before, there are some new unseen parts from Walker’s visit to Japan, where he stopped in at the famed Mine’s Motorsports. A known Skyline enthusiast, he was visiting the shop and had a chance to drive a 600-plus-horsepower version of Godzilla.

A somewhat eerie part of the video is when a motorcycle drives past the two of them. Walker asks the other person whether or not he likes them, and the gentleman says that his wife wont’ let him have one. Walker says she’s smart and tells him about a pretty bad motorcycle accident that he was in the previous year. He says he still liked cars better, though.

As for the GT-R, he had difficulty describing the experience.

“Unbelievable. I don’t know, you can’t really put it into words. I took the camera mount, and I put it on me. I think my face will show it all … it’s like a dream.”

It feels a bit dream-like watching this video. If you’re a softie like me, you might need some tissues.
