Question Bilstein Damptronic Noise

Well I figured it out this weekend. I had not put the OEM rubber bushing in between the Strut perch bearing and the Bilstein spring hat.

All is well now.

Hello and Thanks to all the "411" smart guys for taking the time to respond. I have a 2006 C2S with PASM and have installed Bilstein PSS10 Damptronic Coil Over Struts. I followed the service manual procedure for removal and the Bilstein installation instructions when installing. I must have done something wrong because I am experiencing an almost musical sound when the steering wheel is turned at low speed. It sounds like the springs are binding then "unloading" with a distinct popping sound. I reused the OEM Strut bearing and ring when I reassembled. I took it back apart and added some grease to the bearing assembly but still have a bind in the system. I have the two arrows on the strut perch toward the outside per the instructions. Any suggestions as to what I might have done wrong? Could it be over torque on the strut Nut? I couldn't find anything but the Porsche specs which I believe is 53 ft/lbs.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Bill S.
