Drive Shaft Sealing compound Item # 11

I'm getting everything ready for a CV Joint inspection (torn boot) on the drivers side front drive shaft over the holidays. I plan on removing the drive shaft, clean up the mess from the grease grenade so I can inspect everything for wear.

Looking at the drawing, they call out item (#11) as a sealing compound at $163 for about 3.5 ozs. There is another #11 which is grease.

When I built my vintage Lotus, the manual calls out "thread locker for studs and bearings". Members on the forum all use Green Loctite for studs and bearings. If the surfaces are completely clean, a light coating works awesome. The idea is to keep the driveshaft spline and the hubs' splined bore as one with no chance to wiggle around and begin to wear. This is on the outside 1/2 of the drive shaft.

I'm just not up to spend $163 for a tube of Porsche sealing compound. Please share what you guys use when assembling the drive shaft to the hub and the inner hub to spline area ?

Betty thanks you, she is begging for a canyon run....
