stock 911sc vs s500??

havent received the car yet but just a couple more days.

I have a 2003 mercedes s500 4matic with headers/exhaust/airbox. the car is quick for a 4500 pound beast. makes 350hp and 380tq

how will the 911sc stock at 2700pounds and 204hp compare to it in terms of performance.

and will the header/exhaust/airbox and cams upgrades to the 911 be enough to beat it/be faster?

I guess the question is beat it how? In the 1/4 mile, 0 to 60, on the twisties? The Porsche seems to have the advantage when it comes to the weight to horsepower ratio. But you are comparing a 20+ year old car to a 6 year old one.

If your looking for a dragster the Porsche is not for you . Porsche is not about drag times and 0 -60 . Stock is gonna be about 8 seconds or a little faster , my minni van beats my SC. Also the SC is a 915 gear box and drag strip runs are gonna chew up your first to second gear synchros in a heartbeat if you try to sped shift.
Bottom line is that old of a car will not get the numbers you are looking for and there are not that many gains to an SC. maybe the headers will get you a few HP if you free flo the cat and get the right combo of muffler. but there are no Miracles and as pointed out earlier don't expect to much from 30 year old technology. If you want to talk about 0-60 times go buy a ricer . if you wanna talk about motoring ICONS , buy the SC

true but PORSCHE IS A PERFORMANCE CAR lol so 0-60 and quarter mile times matter just as well as spirited driving but your right it is a motoring icon.

My 86 911 targa with a strosek kit was a light 2680 lbs, had a weltmeister short shift kit, ssi headers, dansk exhaust, k+n filter and 275/35/18 rear wheels and was still slow 0-60 and 1/4 mile. It definitely looked alot faster in a straight line than it was. The Mercedes will beat it, but the Porsche is never going to be a straight line beast unless you supercharge it and then you risk reliability and these engines aren't cheap to rebuild. These cars are just too old and without forced induction don't produce enough horsepower. If you want to go fast in a straight line, and want an older Porsche, get a 930 or 951.

Say what you want about the Mercedes, but my 87 911 does 0-60 in a little over 4 seconds and 1/4 mile in a little over 11 seconds. It'a a normally aspired 3.2L (not super charged or turbo) making around 350HP weighing 2650 pounds. I don't think theres a S500 out there that can take my car. A stock 911 SC is only 3.0L and only making something like 200HP. It's all about HP to weight ratio....that's my story...Pipes

This does not compute That sounds like a 12 second car not an almost 10 second car. Any videos?

These cars make what 217 hp factory? How did you get 350 NA hp when a turbo model of the same year only made 280hp? There isn't much power you can get from these engines without supercharging because I looked at all the options.

Sounds fishy to me.

You're in Knoxville as well? Do you know about Cars and Coffee at Euro Auto Garage?
