Newbie on the sideline...Intro
Hi-
I got the bug about 3 weeks ago, not sure how i got it or why. But i dont think there's a vaccine to cure it. And I dont mind.
Actually, i think i know when it started. I was in the market for an E30 BMW back in May 09 and I found one in Virginia. I took a one way trip from NJ to go pick the BMW up and drive back. The owner said he'd pick me up at the station.
And that's when i saw her. The owner of the BMW picked me up in his 1992 Carrera C2. It was red with tan interior which was coincidentally the same color combo of my bimmer. And although i was there to pick up my new (to me) BMW, i was more interested in the Porsche.
So sitting at work one day i started to Wikipedia Porsche and get some info. I like the 87-89 911 (G50). And also 964's.
But since i'm getting married and saving for a house, i might have to wait a bit before pulling the trigger. In the meantime, i'll be surfing around here and try to get as much knowledge from you guys on these amazing cars.

The 87-89 911 is a classic.
Mine is an '87 Guards Red with black coupe, I bought it in '98 with 17K miles on it. Since then I have driven it from Chicago to Florida, Montreal, San Diego, and Colorado for PCA events, done more than 100 track days, and added almost 100K miles to the clock, and it is still looking good and running great. You will love the car.

Be happy to sell it to you, but you may need to wait 20 or 30 years. It is a keeper.
Wait and find a good car, be prepared to do the maintenance, which while it may be slightly expensive, is usually not outrageous, and you will have a keeper as well.
