New here, anybody have any input on this?
My early. 996 ('99) has locked me out of the luggage compartment (boot) a few times and it's frustrating. First time my wife was in it, and I have no idea what she did (neither does she), second time, the battery got discharged and locked both lids. On that. I snuck some juice in through the cigarette lighter and got the engine lid open, and was then able to jump off of another car to start, then, the central locking light on the dash came on and I got the front lid open. Only had this car about a year, and I've previously owned a couple of Porsche's, but both of those were older (1976 & 1982) and didn't have near the electronics in them. Anybody know anything about this, also, anybody know anything about the cable releases in this car? I couldn't find them. I've never used this forum before so I hope I can figure out how to get my replies, if any. Any help here would be appreciated, thanx fellas.
A quick search will yield the same answer, and you're in the wrong forum... But with that said -
There's an emergency hood release in your fuse panel... Just run power to it and a solid earth on the door catch:
