A classic 911 owner (once again) looking for resources (websites/pointers)

My first taste of my 911 was a 1974 Porsche 911 Targa which the previous owner had re-imagined as a 1978+ SC car. I purchased the car when I was 19, blowing part of a trust fund quite stupidly, but not a regret to this day about the experience I had with the car.

I purchased a 1979 Porsche 911 Targa from a fellow this past summer which he had somewhat 'hot-rodded' a 2.7L (replacing the 3L for some reason ) and adding some cosmetics to make it reminiscent of a 964. Essentially the car is non numbers matching and I'd like to make some repairs/restorations and changes, as this has had a lot of the creature comforts stripped from it such as the speakers, a/c unit, centre console and some other finer bits. I've done a lot of the work already with swapping out tie rods, cleaning up the brakes and ignition system and some other work

It's a lovely car overall and the previous owner meant well of course. I'm looking for a way to identify what sort of interior pieces I'm missing, and where I can get them. I'm also looking for some advice/direction on harnessing some more power. I also have a 955 TTS which has quite-near 700 bhp. I love driving that pig and I'm looking for similar hp:weight out of this 964 look-alike I have now. Obviously with a carb-fed 2.7L I'm dreaming.

With those that have ventured out that way, what is the best solution for a driveable 300-320 engine?

TLDR;

1. Looking for a good website or resource on identifying interior pieces (like Pelican Parts?) that I need, without posting pics and having to bug you guys constantly.

2. Looking for 300-320 hp, turbo'ed or supercharged is fine, streetable and the 'most economical' solution is the best.

Cheers,

Even the crickets can hear crickets.

I've googled and searched the crap out of this site and I'm really just looking to be pointed in the right direction. Am I looking at going 3L or 3.2 with my power expectations, can I do it N/A or is it a pipe dream, a good resource for interior parts and engine parts would be great.

I just purchased a 81 SC, can't wait for it to arrive! More is on RennList for the air cooled cars. I'm waiting for transport company to pick it up and bring it over. To the OP, beautiful engine!

To the OP, check out the Pelican Parts forum on building engines. Tell me about this photo!

Congrats on your purchase! It'll have to sit all winter being that you're in Denver eh? Gives you some time to clean it up if it's not a cherry at least.

I had totally forgot about Rennlist! It's been so long.

I wish I had more information on the engine. This car came with literally no paperwork outside of the bill of sale/former registration. I'm lucky the stickers are intact but being as this is a carb'ed 2.7, who knows what else is going on. Once I drop this to do some work I'll be able to identify what's going on but agreed it's gorgeous under the hood!
