There is a thread on RL but I can't seem to link it properly. A huge acomplishment for a 2.5L single Turbo Inline 4.

The block must have been reinforced to keep the cylinder walls in place. Impressive number from that engine.

 

Yes, Jim has done a lot of work and gone through a few motors to get there, but he did hit his goal

 

Certainly impressive, especially considering the scarcity of other high-hp 944s (and thus the knowledge not gained from someone else's mistakes).

I am curious about his turbo choice however, as a Garrett GT unit would likely improve the on-boost drivability of the car. Dual ball-bearings make for a much smoother transition into boost.

 

I wounder the reliability of this vehicle.
