need member opinion......sell or repair & keep
Here's my situation. I bought my 968 around 10 months ago as a daily driver for 6500usd. After some problems with the camshafts, cooling, and 2500 dollars later, the car has been running smoothly until now.
Summer is here and the A/C does not work. I took it to the garage and they say they it is going to cost 2000 dollars to repair.
These are hard times and I don't have lots of money laying around to spend.
I was thinking of stripping the car and making it a track car, but I already have a track car that I am successful with. And if the 968 is to be tracked it will placed in the (2000+ cc n/a) category, and I don't stand a chance against other n/a Porsches
Here's is where I need your opinions on this matter
1. Cut my losses and sell the car as is for around 4000
2. Repair the car and continue to use it as a dd
3. Don't repair the A/C and convert the 968 into track car for track days

If you have a track car you're happy with and have already sorted out, I wouldn't replace it with the 968 just to avoid spending money on the A/C repair. You have a track car, so you know they can consume all available funds if you let them...
If money's a problem, I would think that dictates your answer regardless. But if it isn't that bad, I'd focus more on whether or not you enjoy the 968 as a daily driver. Does it meet your needs? Is it fun? If so, and you've sorted out all the other mechanical needs, it'd consider it cheaper to fix this one than buy another used car and worry about what problems you didn't know about.
Good luck!

Remember, there were not a whole lot of 968s out there, so fix it & use as a dd. Just set some cash aside each month as you would for a car payment, that way you have a fix it fund.
