First Time buyer, need advice
I found a 1986 Porsche 944 2.5L V4 that this guy is selling. He only wants $1500 for it, so I'm a little cautious. The only problems it has is that the clutch is out and it has high mileage, 186,000 miles.
My questions are:
Is this a good deal or am I getting scammed?
How difficult/ expensive is the clutch replacement?
Is the car really worth fixing these problems?
Thank you in advance for the help

Look for something better. The rule is as follows:
The lowest mileage possible, in the best condition possible for the most $ you can afford!.
Its always about mileage and condition.
A high mileage Porsche in good condition (properly maintained is better than a lower mileage Porsche that was not maintained. You'll have to do the maintenance anyway, so ...
Learn what repairs cost. Learn to do repairs yourself. Learn, learn, learn, or you will always be at the mercy of someone else. A bad place to be.
Drive the most expensive, best cleanest, lowest mileage, best maintained one you can find, one in fantastic condition, so you have a benchmark as to how they are to handle, run, corner ....
Never buy any car without putting it on a lift and if you don't know what to look for, have someone there that does or don't even consider it.
Trust half of what you see, nothing of what you hear.

Did you make a purchase?
How did you do? How are you doing now?
