Should I worry about 'high' mileage on a .1 TT?

I'm in the market for my first porsche, and looking for a 997.1TT with the 6 speed.
It seems there is a ~$13k delta on prices between cars with 50k miles vs those with sub 30k miles. I know the mezger engine is a rock, I know the transmission is similarly reliable. Would anyone say it would be worth spending ~80k for one with under 30,000 miles vs spending ~68k for one with around 50k miles? In my head, I want the lower mile car - but there might not be a real reason for that. The car will be a weekend car with occasional (3/4x year) track use. Maybe 10k miles/year.
I plan to keep it stock for a bit, and when the clutch needs replacing go with the 2.5 clutch and add tune/exhaust. Won't try and make power beyond that (500 or so whp).
Any advice about reliability in relation to miles and the price delta will be appreciated.

I have been watching the websites for about 6 months daily as I am in the hunt as well. From what I have seen the trend is around high 70s to low 80s for cars with 15-30k miles, it seems as soon as they hit 40 k miles the price gets into the 60s. Personally I want less than 25k miles because if I'm going to spend this much on a car I want it as new condition as possible. But having read so many threads on the subject the higher mileage cars should not be a problem. I would just be extra cautious and give it a little more scrutiny when looking it over and it also depends on how it was used and whether the owner was a Porsche enthuseist or not. Good luck hope it works out well for you.
You'll find many similar threads like this if you search. IMO...yes it is worth it to find a lower mileage vehicle. My position is not related to the reliability but to the condition differential between the two. If you can find a higher mileage vehicle that meets your standards in color, options, condition and maintenance I might consider it.
I got my 07 with 36k miles for $70k a year and half ago. I've got 41k miles on it now. It was a hell of a deal. They wanted $75k but I saw that it was on the lot for 6 months and they kept lowering the price. Apparently forest green and its grey interior where a real turn off to people because it wasn't silver or red with black interior.
Its funny I've been to so many Porsche meets and people come up to me all the time asking me what color it is and tell me how awesome it looks and how unique it is

Mine had 44k got it for $59k. Had to replace the radiators(DIY) but according to the dyno and tune, she's got all the power that should be there. I spent my savings on mods. yes I took the risk but I'm keeping it for the long haul and I can usually fix things myself.

My opinion is if you can afford a low mile 997.1 turbo go for it. Don't forget that even if the engine is bulletproof, there are parts that wear with time and a 997 turbo is still a car. There is a difference in cost for a reason always and you get what you pay for. You need to think that getting a higher mile 997.1 turbo you might well be needing springs, brakes, new wheels, clutch maybe and if this car has ceramic brakes that might need replacement then it'll simply cost you more than the low mile car! Don't forget to just check those things before you go for it. Natural wear is there for every car even if it's extremely reliable like a 997 turbo. I never regreted the fact that I got a 7K mile one... I'm thinking of keeping it forever. Even if I decide to go for a 991 model later on this 997 turbo will probably stay in my garage for life...
Mileage doesn't tell you everthing. I know plenty of low mileage garage queens that have more problems that the the guys that daily their car.
I personaly think feeling about the owner will tell you more about how it's been cared for than mileage will.

My plan was to keep it for the long haul, so either way if something was to break, I'd still have to pay for it. I also bought without warranty, so that might have added to my discount. It's my DD, even taking it to home depot is always a fun trip.
I actually got my 07, black with sandy beige interior, tip, full leather, with 7600 miles on it 13 months ago for $79K, CPO from a dealer. Good deals are out there so just be patient. At the time, I had friend selling his, exactly the same car/color combo, but with 35k miles on it for $68K. I never regret paying more for the lower mileage and CPO. I agree with another member who said these cars are cars, and even if they have great engines, wear and tear items need to be replaced and they are not cheap. Thankfully, mine has not needed anything beyond normal maintenance and I have 24K miles on it already! Good luck!
