Looks like the insurance certificate for "tourist delivery". Original owner scheduled a nice European holiday to coincide with taking possession of his new toy. Early December in Europe in a 928! Tourist delivery used to save enough to cover a week or two there if you had the time. I did it once, but all the paperwork on mine was in Swedish. My first Porsche ('65 SC cab) was also a tourist delivery car, but I was the second owner.

Cool stuff! It's nice to get all the history stuff with the car. PO on mine had a file that included every note made during purchase, plus the cancelled checks, etc. Adds to the lore and possibly the value of collector cars, as I'm sure you know.

Can't wait to get it back from the major.
So I can drive it the way I want to

It is going in to Greg Brown for service in a few weeks.

Preventative maintenance

Thumbs up

You'd have a tough time finding a better 928 wrench than Greg. Great plan getting all the PM and deferred stuff taken care of now. Makes driving a lot more fun and less worry.

We mised you at VCR last Sunday. I'll miss the April Euro Sunday event but should be there for May. Hope to see you and the car at one of these shows one of these days.

Tell Greg that dr bob says hey!

This Sunday is Easter, one of the Sundays I have committed to spend with my wife. I don't know if Easter will cause the crowd there to be greater or lesser. Last weekend the show started out pretty slow. Easter is also one of those mornings (with New Years & Christmas) when traffic is amazingly light. Good time to go carve some turns on your favorite tire test road. I won't be doing that, unfortunately.

New rules at VCR there say everybody out of the lot by 10:30-10:45. Amazingly, the other tenents in the center there would like access for their customers.

I may be in the minority on this, but I figure I can drive faster in a car that's quiet. With most of the sport exhaust options (rear muffler bypass, resonator removal, cat delete, headers, X-pipe, or some combination of these), everybody in earshot knows exactly how the engine is rev'ing and also knows your throttle position. As much as I think that a nice V-8 exhaust note is music to the ears, I'd rather not share that music with others. Just my opinion, based on years of driving interesting but loud cars and meeting too many judges. Changed to more subtle cars, black, with quiet exhaust, and no more meetings!

I should be available to attend the May (maybe) and June VCR Euro Sunday events. See you then, hopefully!

To make a long story short, I took the car to Greg Brown in Anaheim last week, got the car back today!
W O W! What a difference! Night and day!
I took the car for a spin a few minutes ago and I am in total shock the way the car runs. Greg Did a fantastic job.
A quick thank you to IcemanG17 (Brian) on this board for the referal to Greg Brown.
This was money well spent (on the car and on the service)! Along with the major and I had the tranny serviced, brakes bled, exhaust replaced. I am so pleased with the way the car turned out, drives, sounds, handles, etc....

This is a huge bang for the buck....I said to myself.....YA, I DID GOOD

OH. and here is a pic of the engine of my 348....Pretty proud of that engine too

EDIT: Pictures are not uploading again on this site! what's the deal?
