Lots of Mid-Winter Upgrades
Lots of Mid-Winter Upgrades
Spent the past few days putting new stuff on the 951. The car is shaping up nicely and I cannot wait to finish the Tec3R install and get this baby fired up and on the track (and dyno!). Here are the pics:
So, here's the list of what I added:
Fabcar Control Arms and Caster blocks (Spherical Bushings)
Late Offset Hubs and Spindles
M030 Front and Rear Sway Bars
Bilstein Escort Cup Coil-overs with helper springs and camber plates
Kokeln Solid Transaxle Mount
Koklen Rear Subframe with torsion delete and new trailing arms (spherical bushings)
Braided stainless brake lines
993TT Brakes on all 4 corners
New Axles
Built transmission (Built by 944 Online) New internals, hardened, quaife
968 Mirrors (still sitting in box)
968 Handles (still sitting in box)
968 Hatch Trim
968 Turbo RS Adjustable wing
Lexan Hatch
Lindsey Stage V Intercooler
Lindsey Hard Pipes with Tial BOV
Speedforce MAP Pipe
I still need to order a new set of wheels for the new offset, I'm probably going to order a set of CCW SP20's with a polished lip and gold centers. I cannot do anything else though till I get the second 951 back and get it sold.
I think that was everything. I still need to install the transaxle, mirrors, and handles, just ran out of time. I'll be doing those in the coming weeks, 8) I cannot wait for spring!
Awsome,
Your garage looks very similar to mine when I was getting my S2 ready. Post additional pics when you are done. How long did it take you to do all of the work you posted above?

I was actually working at a friend's garage as mine is not heated (19th century carriage barn). If I'm doing MAJOR stuff I do it there. We would've had all this done in 2, maybe 3 days, except we ran into a major problem with a frozen bolt/bushing in the original subframe and chassis that took us almost a day and a half to fix. So total I think we put in 4 days of solid work with a 5th day of work/partying. But we were swapping all my old parts into another car too.

The car looks awesome with the new suspension under it. Shouldn't be much longer before we can start getting the bugs shaken out of it. There are precious few parts that haven't changed since the last time Mike had his car running, so it's going to be a while before the car is up to it's potential. I, for one, can't wait.
